(More customer reviews)I read the other review. I will be honest, the first week my husband and I also suffered from the previously mentioned shoulder pain...I will tell you my therory on this. 1. I have not slept all night in the same position in the last three years. From the night we got this, I would fall asleep in one position and wake up at 5am in exact same place. 2. Everyone will tell you that it will take up to a month to get used to...it did not take this long for us, but, I think it is because your back is going back in to alignment. If you think about sleeping in a normal mattress, your abdomen falls into the lowest position, throwing you out of whack.
So, onto mattress, my experiences, and why I have basically become a Sealy walking billboard. I have two torn lumbar disks. Trying to avoid recommended fusion surgery. Can't sleep at all at night, and haven't been for last three years. I take multiple meds to sleep at night to NO avail, wake up at 1 and never fall back to sleep. Would move from bed to couch to couch. Kept looking at Tempurpedic. But, the model I wanted was over $6000 to get the one that kept you "cooler" totally out of my budget. Went to local sealy dealership. Kept lying on the Embody Prophecy. I wanted it so bad I could taste it. The poor sales guy...Finally broke down and bought mattress, only to find that they did not keep in stock, they had to order it, and it would take a week. Thought I was going to cry :o)
It was delivered to us a week later. I can't even begin to explain how happy I am with it. That night I took my meds, and got settled into bed to watch tv. Woke up next morning in exact same position. I can not remember the last time I have experienced this. I was in complete shock. It has been like this ever since. We went out of town last weekend, and neither my husband or I could sleep at all in another bed. We are ruined for life, lol. All I can say is I wish so badly we had done this earlier. I am hopeful that I will be able to put off surgery at this point, as I am finally at least finding some comfort at night.
By the way, we have not experienced overheating mentioned with other memory foam mattresses. I am convinced that the polartec makes all of the difference! Run, don't walk to your sealy dealer, lay on it for 5 minutes at a time on each side you sleep on, and your back. It is said that people who test this long tend to be most satisfied...Also, haggle with them. They dropped a large amount of maney off of our King size mattress...all mattress dealers plan to haggle, most people don't know this.
